Course Description:
Earth Science is the study of the Earth and all the components that create the Earth's system. Students will be learning a variety of concepts that fall into the category of Earth Science along with labs.Earth Science is the study of various sciences that deal with the earth, the earth's composition, or any of the earth's changing aspects. Students will explore geography, geology, meteorology and astronomy in this course.
Course Grading/Assessment:
The student’s grade will be determined by the total number of points they accumulate during each semester. These points come from tests, unit projects, worksheets, quizzes and daily assignments.
Grading scale
90% and above A, 80% to 89% B, 70% to 79% C, 60% to 69% D, below 59% failing
A. Minimum Requirement for Credit: A 60% to pass and a mandatory final each semester.
B. Zeros: Not turning in assignments and makeup work will be counted as a zero towards each assignment involved.
C. Late Assignments: I will accept late work, as long as the gradebook on powerschool has the
assignment listed as missing.
D. Makeup Work: The student is responsible for getting their make-up work from the teacher on
the day they return. Their assignments are also posted on my website calendar
at mrsblee.weebly.com. Labs and tests can be made up after school.
E. Extra Credit: This is not intended to be used as “instead of” credit.
1. Assignments: Extra credit will be assigned occasionally on daily assignments as extra work.
2. Individuals: Extra credit will not be given on an individual basis.
Classroom Expectations/Consequences:
1. Be courteous to yourself and the others in the classroom.
Students will be sent to their administrator for being disruptive to the learning process.
2. Bring all materials to class. (paper, pencil, and assignments)
3. Be in your assigned seat when the bell rings.
Students will be sent to room 105 if they are not ready for class on time.
4. Be honest – do your own work.
Students will be referred to their administrator for Academic Integrity.
5. Be engaged as a student. (Participate in individual & group work)
Students will be sent to their administrator for sleeping in class.
6. Listen and follow directions the first time.
7. Follow all lab safety guidelines.
Students will be sent to their administrator if they are not acting in a safe, mature,
and responsible manner.
8. Use of Electronic Devices in the classroom is prohibited at all times.
-any unauthorized use will be turned into the Administration.
9. All students need to have their student ID’s visible during class.

Earth Science is a required course for graduation. Students must earn both semesters for a full credit in science. I am available for students everyday from 3:00 to 3:30 unless I have a meeting, in which I will announce that to the students or post it on my door. High school students are responsible for the outcome of their choices in the classroom. All of my assignments are accessible for everyone. I am available to help any and all students during class time and after school. Missing work will be entered in powerschool. Missing work will be accepted until I give the students a final date.
